Woop!
Bought this primarily as a one off project to rip some long deleted region 1 DVDs (with a view to simply just changing the region code to R1); the drive doesn't seem to be phased by region coding or encryption, so all good.Fairly robust and quiet, certainly fast enough for what I need. Great purchase. Highly recommended.

absolute rubbish
I bought this based on the reviews and it being highlighted as Amazon recommended. More fool me. It installs easily enough but then refuses to burn anything either saying the CDR is not compatible or just not acknowledging there is a disc in the driver. Then the disc drawer randomly opens and it is quite difficult to get it to close.A total waste of money and time, I am off to find a better product elsewhere

iMac cannot read CD's inserted into this device
The product is advertised as plug and play, and as compatible with all MacOS operating systems. Well my new iMac tells me it cannot read the CD's inserted into this device. So it's definitely not plug and play. Hopefully the vender will answer my communication regarding the apparent incompatibility with MacOS and correct this issue.Followup: the vender acknowledged my communication with a promise to get back to me, which was not kept. I've noticed that other people have had the same issue. I've returned the item to Amazon. The product is either defective or falsely advertised as being compatible with Mac OS

Didn't read music CDs
Tried to connect it to a macbook pro using the USB-C connector. Did read the DVD that I put in it, but failed with all the Audio CDs (tried 3 different ones, all original, one bought recently).Very disappointing. Considering this is the only non 5 star, it is either bad luck or just a lot of bogus reviews :(

Does what it says
Haven't tested the Type C interface as I have a PC but this works without any fuss.....Not all burners are the same...some don't seems to burn sufficiently well for older CD players to recognise the tracks...No problem with this one.

Faulty doesn’t work don’t buy!
Bought this as present which has only just been opened. Plugged it in and it doesn’t work?? Can’t send it back as passed the window for return. So spent money on a faulty item!!!

Perfect for on the go
I purchased this portable disc drive to transfer photos from disc to my laptop. Well worth the money and very easy to use. I literally plugged it in and 1 minuet later it was ready to use. It is very lightweight and compact which is great for on the go with studies. I would recommend this seller as it arrived well packaged and super fast thank you
