Awful
I am really confused by the positive reviews. I followed the directions, and even added more water after letting the mixture settle for 15 minutes. The falafel balls were SO dry. It was unbearable to eat. We literally had to make an entirely new dinner. For those who give positive reviews, can you provide feedback on how you made them? Did you follow the recipe?

Hit or Miss
I've had these a number of times and my most recent attempt was an utter and complete failure. The amount of water recommended wasn't enough to hold my falafel balls together and they came out dry. I suspect this is why they fell apart in the oil. Also half an inch of oil in the pan is really insufficient if you want to make normal sized falafel balls. Even at one inch in diameter you would have to flip them over to cook both sides of the ball. This also results in a partially cooked interior.Taste wise these are rather unspectacular. Any half decent restaurant falafel will be better than these. But then again what do you expect for something that comes in a powder form.I say try making your own from scratch. It's not easy to find a perfect mixture that won't disintegrate, but when they are good they are divine. In the meantime I'll continue looking for another prepackaged falafel option.

Modifications
This tasted pretty good to ME, but the falafels I usually get are the frozen Trader Joes ones. No doubt fresh-mixed garbanzos and fava beans are better, but come on, this is instant (more or less.) I haven't tried any of the other mixes - this stuff is cheap at our local supermarket.I use one cup of the powder with 2/3rds cup of chicken stock, and let it set for about 20 minutes; I'm able to form eight patties, no problem. Then I pan-fry 'em in oil with a little onion. Obviously that's not the instructions, but it works well. Each box is about two cups of mix.

Delicious!
I love this mix for when you want a quick falafel. It is not better than a homemade one, but when you don't have the time or ingredients around, this is a great substitute! I even have friends that like these more than homemade. The mix is hard to find in my small town, so Amazon saved me with their grocery delivery.

Dry & Unpleasant texture
Dry unpleasant texture. I made half the box and will throw the rest away. The Fantastic Foods Taboule mix is good, though.

Falafel you say?
Hands down, this is by far the WORST Falafel I have ever tried. I have been eating Falafel since I was a kid and this doesn't even come close to taste to falafel. Please do not purchase, it is a waste of your money. I just threw mine away in the garbage. It taste's like fried dirt! :|
