Delicious and EASY!!
All that you need is in the box. Add water, and some butter (optional). I use the microwave method, and within about 15 mins I have an excellent side dish. The flavors are not overwhelming at all. No chewy bits other than the rice and a few teeny bits of what is probably red bell pepper. The rice cooks so the grains are separate and fluffy, not sticky, and no blown grains.I ordered the six box package and am ordering it again. Perfect main dish under some cubed beef or chicken.

Delicious! But the spice sneaks up on you!
I love Thai, I love garlic, I love basil, and I love coconut...so this seemed right up my alley. I'm on my third S&S order in a year, so I think it's a hit!The one thing to know, however, is that there is a kick to it. You don't notice RIGHT away, but then BAM! there it is. It's not bad in the overall scheme of spicy things, but you don't really expect it in RICE. But MAN it's good.I do wish there was more basil so sometimes I add a few leaves of my own...and if I want to knock the spice down a bit, I will add some regular rice to it (well, I will add plain white cooked rice to it when finished--not during the actual cooking process). I do love it with the coconut milk as well.I highly recommend this. HIGHLY.

Very good but I modify a little
Face facts: This product is very good but it costs $4 for 6oz of rice. Frankly I think the salt content &spice packs are actually designed for 12oz of rice. It tastes better to me that way. So... I mearly add 6oz additional jasmine rice and double the required water. It turns out better than if you follow directions. If it's nearly half price that way who am I to complain? FYI: years ago I found that the best of all rice cookers is a heavy 4qt enamaled cast iron pot. Boil the water - stir in the rice - boil additional 10 minutes - turn off the stove & leave the hot pot alone while you do as you please for the next hour. It'll still be quite warm when you return & perfect every time.

Quick and easy and pretty good for a boxed mix
I first bought this product about 6 years ago when I just started to get interested in Thai cooking. I thought that it would be easier than making it from scratch (which is what I prefer to do now) and it is. Very authentic flavor but the Jasmine rice tastes more like regular long grain rice to me. The spices are fairly mild but can be adjusted. Here is how I make it:* I substitute Coconut Water for the water -- it still gives a nice flavor but the rice stays a nice, fluffy consistency compared to using coconut milk.* I add a few diced, red Serrano peppers before I boil the coconut water.* I added minced red and yellow bell peppers to the mix before boiling.* I finish off with some chopped Thai basil as a garnish.Again, it is a nice mix which can become even nicer if you mess around with it a little.

Delicious, easy to cook and great value.
Love this rice. My hubby has it at least once a week. So easy to cook. He usually eats the whole box but sometimes I get a portion! Even though I don't like ginger I really love the blend in this. It's not overpowering and the overall flavor is delicate. Goes great with fish, veggies or just eat it on it's own. Can't beat the subscribe and save option either.
