I ordered the queen-sized cotton damask stripe product pictured in the photo a couple of years ago, and have been happy with that product, so, when a need for more mattress pads arose, I had hoped to order two more of the same thing. The pads that arrived were thick enough, with a very stretchy side panel that would have done the job, but the top was a much less soft solid white material that would have been much noisy in use on a bed. The noise that it made reminded me of that made by a cheap vinyl tablecloth or other waterproof surface. I use that sort of thing only under the other bedding, and then only on beds that are to be used by young children. I can't really say much about comfort, size, or water resistance, as I did not unfold them or place them on the beds.

I can't believe this item has such good reviews - either that, or I received a different product. I wanted to wash this before putting it on my mattress, so I put it in the washer and dryer (on low) as indicated on the package and the "care instructions" on the tag.When I opened the dryer, a bunch of plastic flakes fell out. Upon inspection of the mattress pad, it seemed as if some kind of plastic layer (?) had melted, ruining the mattress pad as well as an expensive set of sheets and several new towels that I had placed in the dryer along with it. I am so upset.What a POOR product - the product description doesn't even say there is plastic in this (and it doesn't feel that way, either). I've since searched the Amazon reviews and see this is a common problem.

Ok, listen up, everyone. Here's the deal with mattress pads: No matter which brand you buy, it will flake, crunch, and eventually singe and burn if you dry it too hot and/or too long.I spent literally 30 years trying different brands. Same result always. So now I set a timer, and remove it from dryer after 15 minutes and complete drying on a line (or draped over shower door, etc). The lowest setting on my dryer just isn't low enough.This pad is a good one. But you can't bake it, or it will get crunchy. This accounts for nearly all the negative reviews of this and every other mattress pad.

This is my second one, and I am happy with it. My first one still fits my 13" thick mattress and is still soft after 3 years. I only purchased a second one to have it on hand when I wash the original one. I am careful not to leave it in a hot dryer unattended! Also, I don't over dry it; I'm not asking for problems. The top layer is a nice, crisp cotton. The underside does feel like a scratchy synthetic fabric, but that roughness keeps the pad from sliding around on the mattress top. On the second pad that just came this week, it arrived in a WalMart box. Perhaps these can be found at WalMart even cheaper? Anyway, can't beat the price, so far, and they last. So I will keep buying them.

About a year ago, I purchased a new bedroom set that had a platform type bed frame. I had also purchased a new pillow top mattress and box springs. I put on my mattress pad that I already had but it made the bed way too high and it did not fit snug. I bought several other mattress pads but did not like any of them. I ended up changing out the box springs and bought a low profile box springs hoping it would help with the highth of the bed. With the pillow top mattress, I struggled with finding a mattress pad that I liked. When I saw this one through Amazon, I read a lot of the reviews as everyone should when buying something through the mail. If you are reading my review on the NewPoint Home Deluxe 250 Thread-Count Cotton Damask Stripe Queen Mattress Pad, let me tell you this.....I LOVE IT! Because some of the reviews I read said it "fell apart after washing", I washed it on delicate, in cold water and I had NO problems. It fits a pillow top mattress PERFECT and does NOT slip and slide like some other people indicated on the reviews. I would quess that those people did not have a pillow top mattress and in fact had just a regular mattress where I could see that it would not fit as snug and slip around. I don't usually write long reviews but I am so thrilled to have found this mattress pad! It has been a struggle trying to get the heighth right with my bed and finding a mattress pad that would protect my new mattress, not slip off and still provide comfort and happily I have found it! If you have a pillow top mattress, this mattress pad is perfect!

Still hugs the mattress even after many washings.

Mattress cover is amazing. Was so easy to fit to mattress, went on easily and has stayed in place.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this cover. Last one I had was $125 and I know it wasn't as good as this. Much thicker than I thought with deep, deep corners and very comfortable. Would recommend this to all family and friends.

Product is very nice quality but fits small. I ordered a queen but it’s small for my queen mattress. Deep pockets though which is nice. Keeping it and using on a double bed which it fits perfectly.

Great mattress cover. Excellent quality. First mattress cover I could find that fit my new super deep queen size mattress. Has a nice cushion feel. Purchased a waterproof mattress cover, that claimed to be breathable, but I would always wake up feeling damp... but not with this mattress cover. I replaced the waterproof cover with this mattress cover and the feeling damp issue disappeared. Price is great. Highly recommend. Love it!
