Deliver to Norway
IFor best experience Get the App
What are these strange symbols on the map? They code for locations where spies must contact secret agents! Two rival spymasters know the agent in each location. They deliver coded messages telling their field operatives where to go for clandestine meetings. Operatives must be clever. A decoding mistake could lead to an unpleasant encounter with an enemy agent - or worse, with the assassin! Both teams race to contact all their agents, but only one team can win.

It's a good party game
I like it, but don't love it like most people I have come across do. The thing with this game is, it's only fun if you have a large number of people, like 6 to 8 people. With fewer than that, this game isn't much fun. I think 6 is the ideal number. There will be one spymaster in each team that gives out clues and the rest of the team have to deduce the correct tiles from the clues. So it's most fun if there is one spymaster and two team members who are trying to discuss and deduce the correct tiles. It can be played with 4 players where there is 1 spymaster and 1 player trying to deduce in each team, it can feel a bit "lonely" and thus, not that much fun. With 8 players (1 spymaster + 3 players trying to deduce in each team) the game can get a little chaotic. Even with 6 players, if the two players deducing the clues aren't in the same wavelength, conflict might occur. It's a great game if you have the right number of players and if the players are make a great team. Otherwise I would pass on this one.

Great variant on the original Codenames Words edition
I had previously played the Codenames Words edition of this game and loved it, so hoped that the pictures variant would be at least as good. The verdict? Yes and No!Yes: because it still has the same style of game play and really makes you think. The game is very clever and engaging in both its words and pictures variants. No: because the pictures are (deliberately) ambiguous. So rather than a picture of, say, a piggy bank, you get a flying piggy bank. This makes the pictures both more versatile but also more frustrating! However it's still a great game for those who like to think a bit and not relay on just chance for their game play.

Excellent
What a game. I have introduced all my friends and family to this, who have subsequently gone out and bought a copy. Literally everyone I've played with loves it. I'd like a booster edition of pictures to come out soon as we've played so many times all the pictures are no familiar but at least the code syustem always keeps it unique.

Group game
This will give you a different gaming experience every time it is played since the likelihood is you will never get the same combination of cards twice. I first played this at a board game meetup type thing with some really laid back people and really enjoyed it so bought it for myself. I then played it with a small party of people who were very resistant to playing at the beginning but found themselves enjoying it a lot. Then I played it again at new year with a bunch of very competitive people and there was lots of excitement and shouting.A great group game to raise the competitive levels and force people into socialising

Ingenuity and cooperation, rather than general knowledge - my kind of fun!
This game proved a 'hit' for family and friends gathered on a caravan holiday in Donegal - engaging folk from 12 - 80+ years old (the oldies kept coming back for more!). It allows for a degree of flirting and joshing between opponents, and great fun in making patterns and connections that might work for other folk. The pictures are quirky and intriguing. And a single game can be completed quite quickly so it doesn't seem burdensome to begin (hard to stop at one though!). It was also very quick to pick up how to play.

Excellent game - fun and challenging.
We love this game. It is fun, easy to use and understand, and incredibly difficult, too, for people of all ages. It provides a mental challenge, and is partially a game of knowing how people think too. Also painfully addictive! We never manage to play 'just one more' round either. We played it on holiday several times with people from 16 all the way up to 85 and we all adored it.
