Excellent Emerald Color, Body, and Umami Flavor
Kept this as a special treat on Fridays, with sencha on all other days. This gyokuro is an absolute delight. High quality, with the paradox of a robust yet delicate flavor. Ordering again now. 5-stars.

Shaded before harvesting
I'm not a tea drinker - I purchased this Gyokuro tea for a completely different purpose. I researched many different teas before selecting his variety. It is high quality, it is available in leaf form, and it is shaded before harvesting, unlike most other types. That naturally increases the levels of certain compounds in the leaves. Unfortunately I can't provide any opinions on taste or brewing, etc. It may sound strange, but I only use this as one of several ingredients to prepare the 'Regrow Hair Protocol' described in David McKenna's eBook (I'm not associated in any way with that person or business; I came across it accidentally). So instead of drinking this tea, I've been using it to restore my previously receding hairline. The results are unmistakable.

Just Ok. A little disappointed
I drink green tea every day and have almost finished this one. This tea is just ok. It does not have any off flavors but it also has very little flavor. It’s the ultra light beer of teas. It’s not rich. It takes a large heaping t spoon and a long steep time to achieve any flavor. All that said, it’s drinkable. For someone not looking for a rich, umami Japanese tea but rather a very light tea, this is for you. But it wasn’t what I was looking for and I don’t plan to buy it again.

Great for Kombucha!
I have been using this tea as a part of a blend for my Kombucha. Initially I was only using a Sheng Pu-erh, and sadly my brew became overwhelmingly vinegar-like. However, after a little research I found that by using a green/black blend of tea you should get a more well rounded flavor. After the very first round of blending with the green tea, it was as if my brew was brought back to life! all the good flavors had returned! also there was some delightful new flavors to experience!I did try a fresh cup of tea when the package arrived, and it was very good! I usually do not drink green tea as it is not my preferred beverage( I SAY TURN IT ALL TO BUCH!!) but this tea is delightfully refreshing with a small boost of energy from the caffeine, with a lasting flavor that reminds me of a lush grassy meadow, early in the morning still glistening with dew.

Not the kind of tea I would drink everyday but certiainly delicious once in a while
If you like wheatgrass juice or fresh snap peas, try gyokuro. I like black tea with breakfast but I do like a good cup of hot sweet gyokuro when I want a treat.

Excellent for digestion
I like this pure green tea, with earthy-grassy flavor, multiple brewers...excellent for digestion. Recommended to my friends, they also purchased it.

Poor quality
I bought Gyokuro tea, it has a funny smell and taste little fishy. I have been drinking this tea strain for a while from different suppliers, but never had one this bad. The price point is little lower, true, but it’s not worth it. I have to use double what I normally use with other brands to give it at least some taste. There’s no return policy, which tells you something as well. I’m sorry I don’t like to give bad reviews, but I don’t want anyone else to be as disappointed as I was.

This is very good tea. I love green tea that is actually green when you steep it properly. This has a wonderful mild taste needing no sweeteners. I'll be buying this regularly.
